Cerrillos Senior Center and Turquoise Trail Volunteer Fire Station #3
Santa Fe County has been working on building a Senior Center in the Village of Cerrillos for over a decade. This facility will be located on Main Street in Cerrillos, just northwest of the US Post Office. It will serve folks living in and around Cerrillos, Madrid, Lone Butte and other communities in central Santa Fe County – providing meals, a place to gather, and many other benefits. Our neighbors currently need to travel to Santa Fe for services, so a Senior Center in this area will be a welcome addition.
Over time, design plans for the Senior Center facility have been combined with those for a Volunteer Fire Station, and the current plans for a joint facility, approved and funded by Santa Fe County, are now complete. These plans have gone out to bid, and the County is working with a contractor to finalize details. Santa Fe County has kindly shared some of the architectural plans and details with The San Marcos Association; you can view these plans below. The San Marcos Association will keep the community informed as any future public meetings or events concerning this construction are scheduled.
